Add your names, projects and code terms to Dictionary.

Give voice typing your everyday vocabulary: names, projects, abbreviations and technical terms.

Start with words you actually repeat

Add the exact spelling of names and terms you use often, such as a project called “Northstar.” A focused list is easier to maintain.

Manage entries directly

Add a term, dictate a sentence containing it and check the result. In Dictionary, open More actions and choose Import terms, then Choose a CSV or TXT file. You can also choose Export active terms as CSV from the same menu.

  • Use the spelling you want to appear in the final text.
  • Delete entries that are no longer useful.
  • Review similar-sounding names and terms in context.
  • Check the result: an entry is guidance, not an accuracy guarantee.

Cloud learning has its own control

Cloud learning suggests terms from your dictation and edits. It is on by default. Turn it off in Dictionary > Learning settings to stop new learning uploads; manual management and existing hotwords remain available.

Your dictionary and your history are different

Your dictionary is linked to your account. Recordings, transcripts and assistant conversations have separate local history controls.

FAQ

Visit the help center
Can I add names and abbreviations?

Yes. Add recurring names, abbreviations and specialist terms you need in your writing. Recognition can still vary, so review the sentence where the term appears.

Do I have to use cloud learning?

No. Turn it off in Dictionary > Learning settings if you prefer to manage entries yourself. Existing hotwords can still be used.

Does the dictionary make recognition perfect?

No. A dictionary helps supply relevant vocabulary, but microphone quality, pronunciation and context still affect the result.
